Committees
VTASLA Committees include Awards, Advocacy, Climate Action, Communications, and Fellowship and Education. Email vtasla@gmail.com if you are interested in getting involved. Most committees involve minimal monthly activities, and more sustained involvement around key events or activities.Awards
The Awards Committee manages the awards program VTASLA Chapter Awards in Planning and Design categories, and together with partner organizations, the Vermont Public Places Awards. The awards committee is responsible for coordinating submission procedures, convening juries, and organizing the awards ceremony.
Chair: Beau Doucette
Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee coordinates the VTASLA Advocacy Day at the State House in late winter/early spring where we have an opportunity to speak with legislators to introduce them to the work of landscape architects and advocate for current and upcoming bills. The Committee also coordinates Site Tour Month in August, where we invite our national, state, and local representatives to visit and learn about sites designed by landscape architects. Volunteers on this committee will assist with logistics and structure of these events and outreach to both representatives and landscape architects throughout the state.
Chair: Emily Lewis
